Throughout my life I have had a deep love and awareness of nature and a kinship with horses. Here at the farm we strive to live in harmony with all species, honoring both similarities and differences. Establishing and nurturing relationship is the key to all we do.
Life experiences have enabled me to connect with people as they journey through their own personal transformations and to provide a safe environment in which to pursue healing. My experiences directed me onto a path of healing and of living life to the fullest. Although the journey through grief, pain, and loss tested my spirit, today I can say that I am more alive than I have ever been, and recovery IS possible.
I know there is profound wisdom in the nature that is all around us, and that we are a part of. Through experiences with horses I became more able to perceive a much more whole and wholesome picture. When we are being whole we are also being a more complete part of the whole, which contributes to the balance our world so needs.
I am deeply blessed to get to work and live in a field that I am intensely passionate about, and so fortunate to be able to share this with others. Moonsong Farm is a place of solace and joy, filled with moments of connection with the amazing horses who open our souls, make us laugh, and teach us the wonders of being in the moment.

Meet the Horses of Moonsong Farm
The horses are the heart of Moonsong Farm. They are a true herd and have formed powerful bonds with each other. And like all families, they each have a unique personality. Their gifts and abilities continue to develop as they journey through time and space, as do we. They are no greater than we, and we are no greater than they, for we are, ultimately, all one.
Lark is the matriarch of the herd. She was born here on the farm before it became my home, too. She was a darling baby. I loved her across the fence and watched her grow up, longing to be closer to her. Not long after the death of my daughter, I was given the opportunity to purchase Lark. I was having a great deal of difficulty re-engaging in life after the trauma of this unexpected life event. Life had begun to return to normal for others in the community, while some of us continued to struggle to make this loss a part of our reality. Where to go? What to do?
Go to the barn.
I would stand and Lark would lay her head down my chest. I didn’t know at the time what she was doing, but I knew it felt good. She would stay like that with me for quite awhile. We did this many times. It was always comforting. She was soothing my heart. Helping me heal.
Lark is a mother, too. She excels in assisting those with maternal relationship issues. She is about being in the present and forgiving the trespasses of past times. She holds a special place in my heart and has taught me many important lessons.

Whisper has a subtle demeanor but is extremely powerful. An off-the-range mustang who was captured in Southern Idaho as a two year old, we believe she had several homes before coming here to her forever home. Something I love about this horse is that there remains an element of wildness in her. This really becomes apparent when riding with her, as we fly together through the forest and over the hills. Sometimes, though, we simply stroll through the woods, soaking in the elements that surround us. We do it TOGETHER.
As Whisper's work on the farm evolves, she comes directly to the healing tables more and more often. She now approaches people in her own quietly intense way and excels in holding space for work being done. In fact, before I knew of this type of equine-assisted healing, I called her “my medicine horse." My parents passed on 3 1/2 months apart, and I purchased Whisper during this time. I needed her.
When she was the first horse I looked at, I thought, You can’t buy the first horse you see. I dutifully spent days looking at and, in some cases, riding horses, but Whisper never left my mind. I occasionally called the people who had her to see if she had moved on. "No," they’d say, "We want her to go with you." One morning a friend and I were going to make arrangements to go see more horses when I said, “Let’s go get Whisper.”
Whisper did not vocalize for months after her arrival here. As she became more settled, she began to infrequently nicker. Somewhere in her, though, there was still a lack of security. When I received two offers of interest in purchasing her, I thought about it. But then I kept hearing, I don’t want to go. I want to stay here. When I finally said, "Okay, you can stay," Whisper “bought in” fully and has been with me since. And I mean with me. I love this quiet, deep mare. To receive her affection is very touching to all who experience it.

Lola was born here on the farm. Lark is her dam. She was a delightful foal, so beautifully innocent and trusting. Helping me clean the stalls, she was there every step of the way, so engaged in the moment – the gift of horses.
Lola is our resident field dragon, and a magnificent field dragon she is, prancing, suspended in the air, snorting on cool brisk mornings. She knows I love her displays and loves my awe and admiration. It is amazing to see how profoundly gentle Lola can be after watching her power as she runs through the fields. A highly sensitive horse and a powerful healer, Lola's state during healing sessions often becomes very, very deep.

Weho is a 7-year-old gelding, born here on the farm. He is also Lark’s offspring, half sibling to Lola. He is the most dominant member of the equine part of the herd. This boy LOVES people, including children. Although he has a playful nature, he is very serious about this work and is a very strong presence at the healing tables, where he tends to get right to the point. He is a very strong healer.
He also loves to be helpful around the farm. Should you have a bucket of tools he will gladly sort them out for you! He is always ready for some interchange with people and seems to be of the opinion that he is the horse you should want to connect with.

Kierrin is a big handsome horse who doesn’t know it or care. He is super grounded. He grounds the farm and the herd. If you have a bad day, simply wrap your arms around Kierrin’s neck and life will soften as your cares dissolve. Kierrin was the one who showed me that the horses were ready to begin this healing work.
Kierrin and Bramble are half brothers, one month apart in age. They can often be found together, and eat out of the same hay box. At times they will walk toward you and it feels as if one horse is approaching you as they are so connected. One might think they would be herd bound after hearing about this closeness, but they are not.

Bramble was quite reserved when he first came to live at the farm as a youngster, but he has grown into a friendly, out-going horse. He is able to transform negative energy into positive and, therefore, has great versatility as a healer. He is very fond of greeting those who come to the farm.
Bramble also likes to assist me as I am doing something with another horse. Like Weho, he has a penchant for helping with chores around the farm as well. He connects deeply with those around him and understands that his power is a gift he can use to support others.
